ABCD Study: Youth Irritability
Drs. Lea Dougherty and Jillian Lee Wiggins (San Diego State University) were awarded a R01 grant from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) to investigate youth irritability across the transition to adolescence and its neural correlates using open data from the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study. The ABCD Study is a longitudinal study ...
that includes over 11,000 preadolescent children (ages 9-10 years old at baseline) from 21 research sites across the United States. The ABCD Study examines adolescent brain development and health annually for 10 years. Using the ABCD data, we hope to better understand how neural processes involved in reward processing and inhibitory control contribute to youth irritability.
